This page is dedicated to the upcoming movie 'PASSIONADA' in which Jason has the top billing as the leading man.

Passionada is the story of three generations of Portuguese women in the fishing community of New Bedford, MA. The protagonist, Celia Amonte (Sofia Milos), is still mourning the loss of her deceased husband and though she is young and beautiful, has resigned herself to working in the textile mill, caring for her elderly mother, and worrying about her rebellious teenage daughter( Emmy Rossum ). Her husband was the love of her life and she does not expect to find another. Charlie Beck ( That's our Jason )is a handsome British charmer, he arrives in a vintage sports car and woos Celia until he sweeps her off her feet. Unfortunately, he neglects to mention that he is a professional gambler with bad instincts and that the Jaguar is borrowed. Celia's daughter, Vicky, is aware of Beck's chosen profession and threatens to tell her Mom (who Beck has fallen in love with) about it unless he tutors her in the art of card counting.

Exclusive review

My friend Beth was very fortunate to have seen Passionada at the screening in Boston on Jan 31st. Here is her exciting review! Beth was a guest of Dan Ireland, the director..

.....After the screening we filled out a survey and participated in a general discussion of the film. I should mention that not only was Dan there, but writer/producer Jim Jermanok, and producer David Bakalar. Dan & Co. had screened the film in Chicago on Tuesday and the audience feedback came back over 89% positive. They were very happy with that, and Dan even thought the Chicago audience was somewhat subdued. I'm sure he'll tell me how the Boston feedback panned out, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't equally high or better. There was a good deal of clapping at the end, and the general consensus was that the film was very enjoyable. Again, the impression I got from Dan is that things are really moving forward, and I'd hope to be able to give you that all important release date soon!

Ok, that covers the official stuff, let's concentrate on Jason -- starting with the hair! LOL, I think Dan really agonized over Jason's hair. The first question he asked after the screening was whether I liked it or not. I agreed with him that initially your mind compares it to Michael Ryan's hairdo, but don't panic, it's not really that big pompadour look. Dan said they had to do something because Jason came to them straight from BHD, and although they loved his blue eyes, the bald head didn't work. Truthfully, I wouldn't rate it that bad and there's only one scene where it's obviously a wig -- you see the back of Charlie's head as he enters a restaurant and the wig is sticking up from his neck (and Dan agreed.) Hey, there's also a beautiful scene of Charlie driving his Jaguar convertible along a causeway with his hair very naturally blowing in the wind (I told Dan he must have had it stapled to Jason's head at that point!) So, they did the best they could, and some of us will love it and some will hate it, but the uninitiated will probably think it's ok.

Does Jason have a lot of screen time -- absolutely! Jason is in the movie from start to finish and finally receives that long-deserved TOP BILLING!

I said Passionada is a love story, and it is -- Jason's character, Charlie Beck, falls for and romances Sofia Milos' character, Celia Amonte. But there's also the story of Celia's relationship with her head-strong daughter, Vicky. And intertwined with that is the story of Angelica, the matriarch of the family (whose character will be one of your favorites!) All of the characters and storylines were interesting, with each character having moments and lines in the film that are memorable. However, nothing seemed contrived, everything seemed very natural. LOL, Jason/Charlie is smooth and suave, even a little cold. He's also charming, funny, sensitive and passionate, but he can't cook! LOL, those of us who are totally initiated to Mr. Isaacs will notice two small things -- he does slight of hand, and whistles with his fingers in his mouth! Oh, and yes, there is a dancing scene at a street festival.

Ok, what else? LOL, I guess I'd better not say that Jason's character is passionate without giving more info. Yes, there is a bedroom scene, but it's of the afterglow kind and you only see his attractive shoulders. However, you will greatly enjoy the kissing scenes leading up to that. Yes, just kissing, all clothes still on, but the scenes are beautifully filmed, and Jason and Sofia totally justify the name of the movie! ......

....although this is Jim Jermanok's first writing credit, the quality of the writing is very good -- and the casting is excellent -- and not to make it sound like an afterthought, but Harry Gregson-Williams' score is beautiful -- and Dan took all of those things, and trusted them, and produced a film that is beautiful in many spots and very enjoyable to watch as a whole.

There you go, a review from a long-time, loyal and totally dedicated admirer of Jason.
It seems like this movie is going to showcase Jason's acting abilities to the fullest.
